Midwifery-led care through JOGG integrates the art and science of pregnancy, childbirth, and parenthood. When choosing midwifery-led care all antenatal and postnatal visits are bulk billed. All the JOGG midwives are endorsed and able to provide you with all your blood work, ultrasounds and even prescriptions.

Our midwives take into account all aspects of your pregnancy including the emotional, cultural, spiritual, psychological, and physical factors that impact you during this time. Our multidisciplinary approach ensures that your care addresses the holistic needs of both you and your growing family.

Its both! You can access the midwifery led care programme at JOGG regardless of if you are delivering publicly or privately at Joondalup Health Campus.

Both public and private midwifery led services at JOGG are bulk billed. There is a $200 access fee for the service which includes all antenatal care and 6 weeks if postnatal care if required.

Most health insurance companies do not cover any antenatal visits so therefore there is generally a gap charged by your obstetrician. With the midwifery led care programme at JOGG your midwife works in collaboration with your delivering obstetrician and bulk bills all your appointments, therefore reducing the cost of maternity care. You do see your obstetrician at 36W and 40W ($150 – $300 gap) and your obstetrician will be there at your birth.

Other than the obvious reduction on financial strain, midwives are the guardians of normal birth! The name midwife literally means ‘with woman’. Midwives are extensively trained in supporting and empowering women throughout their pregnancies ensuring greater satisfaction for expectant mothers and their families.

The importance of continuity of care during pregnancy cannot be overstated. Studies have shown that midwives tend to develop deeper relationships with their clients which leads to higher levels of confidence and empowerment during their transition to parenthood.

All low risk pregnancies can access Midwifery Led Care at JOGG. If you have a higher risk pregnancy obstetric led care may be more suitable.
